Key Stage 4

The Key Stage 4 Engagement Programme is a personalised programme for those key stage 4 learners most at risk of disengagement. It comprises each learner’s whole key stage 4 programme, placing an emphasis on the development of personal, social and functional skills. It includes a work-focused component, preferably taking place in a work environment and is underpinned by high quality and regular support, advice and guidance from a trusted adult.

  • All young people to have a programme that supports a minimum of 70 days per year vocationally related experience of which 35 days should be with an employer, Training Provider, college or a mixture. The placements are to support the needs and aspirations of the learners.
  • Young people should not be excluded during the KS4 programme
  • All young people to have an attendance of equal to or above the County average.
  • Evidence of individual support and guidance that is supportive of the young people achieving a positive progression.
